The kingmakers and elders of the four ruling houses of Ga Paramount Royal Stool in the Greater Accra Region have maintained that King Tackie Teiko Tsuru Il, has still remained the legally and legitimate Paramount Chief of the Ga State
The statement of the kingmakers of the Ga State was in reaction to the current media reports to the effect that Nii Ayikumah Tieku Baah Tackie Oblie II, a descendant of Ga Mantse Ayikumah Tieku Baah I who ruled from 1700 to 1733) has been outdoored as the new Ga Mantse.
According to the report which went viral on social media platforms, the new Ga Mantse hails from the Abola Piam Tumma We and is the Great Great grandson of Ga Mantse Nii Tackie Oblie I who also ruled from 1904 to 1918.
However, this development has angered the kingmakers and accredited elders of the Ga State for which they raised a red flag over the situation.
In a statement signed by Ga Paramount Stool Dzaase Secretary, Mr Joe K.D.O. Benne and copied to the media, the kingmakers stated that the publication on social media that a new Ga Mantse was installed and outdoored at Abola Piam Tunma We on Thursday June 10 2021 has come to the notice of the Ga Paramount Stool Dzaase, Dzaasetse and Principal Kingmaker of the Ga Paramount Stool, Nii Dr Tetteh Kwei II.
The publisher of this outrageous news is stated as ” Kobby Gossip.”
The statement asserted that “As the name indicates this is pure gossip and fake news by someone seeking undeserved attention.
The kingmakers stressed that this fake news must be ignored and treated with all the contempt it deserves.
They further stressed that “no new Ga Mantse has been installed nor outdoored from Abola Piam Tunma We.
According to them, there is only one legitimate Ga Mantse who has been properly installed and outdoored by the principal kingmaker, Nii Tetteh Kwei II namely His Royal Majesty, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II.
They noted that the recent ruling of the Judicial Committee of the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs dated May, 6 2021 has given King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II the additional mandate to rule the Ga state until otherwise ruled.
“All peace loving people are urged to abide by this notification. In particular all media houses and hereby being called upon to ignore the above gossip and fake news and refrain from publishing this false news.
“Media Houses are to take note that any publication of such fake news will be against the wishes of the Ga Paramount Stool Dzaase, the Ga Paramount Stool Dzaasetse and the Ga State as well as the Ruling of the Judicial Committee of the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs and thus expose it’s self to contempt proceedings,” they added.
