Information reaching Bizzygh.com indicates that there is uneasy calm in the Prestea Goldfields International School of Prestea-Huni Valley Municipalilty in the Western Region.
The tension, Bizzygh.com gathered follows a move by an aggrieved Paa Kwaw together with his thugs to storm the premises of the Prestea Goldfields International School near Nakaba community to attack and wound an upper-lower class teacher of the school, Mr Emmanuel Kyei.
The beef of Paa Kwaw, according to the Headmaster of the school, Mr Solomon Asare stemmed from that fact the teacher has allegedly canned a Junior High School Form Two student in the school, Master Caleb Baah Jurah.
Mr Kwaw and his thugs,Mr Asare disclosed took such decision to attack the teacher because he [Paa Kwaw] claimed that Master Caleb Baah Jurah, who is a son of Mr Baah Jurah was his relative.
The headmaster revealed in an interview with Bizzygh.com that the teacher has canned the student for not participating in the school labour work which was organised on Friday April 30, 2021 to prevent erosion in the school.
He noted that after that the student went to his father house near the school to inform Paa Kwaw about an incident between him and his class teacher.
Suddenly, Paa Kwaw who believed to be staying with the father of the student rushed to the school and entered into arguments with the teacher.
Matters worsened when Paa Kwaw allegedly slapped the teacher.
However, the arguments ensured between the two and the teacher was reported to have used the stick to weep Mr Kwaw who came to the school to defense the student.
Mr Kwaw did not take the incident lightly, and proceeded to tell his thugs about it who, within five minutes, came to the school with thugs numbering about three who are fully armed to teeth to subject the teacher to severe beatings in the full glare of some students and teachers of the school.
Following this attack, the thugs wounded the teacher with the knife and machetes. The victim sustained severe inquiries in his left ear and his fore head.
For the timely intervention of the other teachers, the situation would have gotten out of hand, as the incident caused growing tension and unrest among some staff members and students, who were fed up and nearly retaliated at a point.
The case, the headmaster noted was officially reported to the Prestea District Police Command, but the suspect was still not arrested by the police.
He added that they also reported the incident to the Ghana Education Service (GES) and other educational regulatory institutions and stateholders for action to be taken to avert the situation.
The recent attacked on the teacher by Paa Kwaw and his thugs did not gone down with the Assembly Member of Anfegya-Nakaba Electoral Area in Prestea Huni-Valley Municipalilty, Shuaib Dimbie.
He pointed out that the slapping of the teacher of the school were amounted to the three physical attack incidents some parents of the students had meted to the three teachers in the school.
The second incident, according to him, occured when the parent of the student cut off the left side ear of the teacher and since such case was reported to police nothing has been done to the penpertrators who committed the crime.
To this end, the headmaster used the opportunity to call on government and philanthropists to come to the aid of school by way of helping the school to build fence wall to improve the security of the school.
