The second term re-appoinment bid of the current Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ketu South Municipal Assembly in the Volta Region, Mr Elliot Edem Agbenorwu was widely endorsed by almost majority of constituents living in the thirty-nine (39) electoral areas within the Ketu South municipality.

The scores of traders, fisher-folks, students, commercial drivers, chiefs apprenticeships, religious and traditional office holders in an interviewed with this reporter appealed to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo to retain Mr Agbenorwu in office to continue his good works to transform the area.

They maintained that their call for the President to maintain the MCE was premised on the litany of support and other unprecedented social and infrastructure developmental interventions which they have and are enjoying under Mr Agbenorwu leadership unlike other outgone MCEs.

They touched on his humility, quick response to concerns of residents, openness, fair mindedness, reaffirming that Mr Agbenorwu is the only MCE in history, who has really been able to establish a solid and cordial human relationship between residents and the assembly.

According to the residents, particularly market men and women, Mr Agbenorwu
has helped them in many ways.

They describe the MCE as a down-to- earth person as well as a kind gentle leader who has the interest of the people at heart.

“The MCE has never ignored concerns pertaining to our business and any time we draw his attention, he gives us a quick response”, some traders in Klikor, Denu and Tokor and Aflao indicated.

According to them, Mr Agbenorwu is matchless and that bringing a different person to man the affairs of the Ketu South municipality will trigger a great problem for NPP as a political party.

Adding their voices, two market queens in Denu and Aflao who spoke on condition of anynomity stated that MCE deserves to be maintained in office since he has done nothing wrong to necessitate the dissolution of his mandate.

The MCE, according to them, has done so much for them, especially in the areas of sanitation, provision of conducive environment for our trade security.

They maintained that the current MCE is the only government official who has given us enough support in the wake of the novel Corovirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

They showcased the two-year achievements of the current MCE, and also to appeal to President Akufo-Addo to consider the good works of Mr Agbenorwu

According to them, the success of the assembly was accomplished with the able leadership demonstrated by Mr Agbenorwu , saying that he had “proven beyond all reasonable doubts” that the President of the Republic made the right choice by appointing him as the MCE.

They noted that the municipality had benefitted from several developmental projects including schools, hospitals, sporting facilities, water and sanitation, law and security, economic development and roads all under the leadership of Mr Agbenorwu.

“We are again calling on the President to retain the MCE because since he assumed office in September 2018, Mr Agbenorwu has distinguished himself as a development oriented, human-centered individual as well as a great asset to the municipality.
