The issue of policemen taking bribes from drivers on the road has always been a challenge for some drivers while others also see it as an opportunity to escape court case. Whether or not the speculation is true, DSP Kofi Sarpong, a Ghanaian Gospel artist and policeman, in an exclusive interview with Dj Smart (Eld) has cleared the airwaves and has charged drivers to always request for receipts whenever they are confronted by the policemen for monies on the road.
” Henceforth, I want to tell any driver that if a policeman demands money from you on the road, ask for receipt first or let him take you to court. ” He said.
He said this when he was exclusively interviewed on the NHYIRA BOSUO Show on LIFE FM inside Offinso Ashanti by DJ SMART (Eld) known as The Supreme Gospel Selector. He later added that he has never taken a bribe from any person in his career and he advised his colleagues to stay away from such act if they do it.
” I have never taken bribe before in my entire life as a policeman. Even when you are offered a gift, you should submit it to your superior before you take it. We should work with love and passion for the civilians as policemen”, He emotionally stated.
He later advised upcoming artists to always have a mentor and learn from them and also attach another work to the music and not depend on it solely for a living.
