INCUMBENT Member of Parliament (MP) for Weija-Gbawe Constituency of the Greater Accra Region, Mrs Tina Gifty Naa Ayele Mensah, has accepted the congratulation messages from the former Presiding Member (MP) for Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly, Hon. Patrick Baidoo for her popular acclamation given to her by delegates in the just ended New Patriotic Party (NPP) paliamentary primary to lead the party in the 2020 general elections.
“Yesterday, the Sunday of June, 21 2020, I received a call from Hon. Patrick Baidoo, former Presiding Member for Weija-Gbawe and Ga South Municipal Assemblies, congratulating me on my acclamation to lead the party into the 2020 elections for victory.
“I really appreciate his call and support thrown behind me and the NPP as we prepare for a triumphant victory for the party in the constituency once again.
“I urge all supporters of both parties to join hands together for a common course so as to drum home victory,” Mrs Mensah disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday.
The statement which was singed by Mrs Mensah noted that the Weija-Gbawe constituency has a history of peace and unity, adding that it is these values which bind all of us together to work hand in hand to achieve electoral results.
“My heart and arms are opened wholeheartedly to embrace all for a common course. What is important to all of us is victory and nothing less.
Together we can repeat history in this noble constituency just as we did in 2016,” the MP urged the constituents.
However, the statement said “in my line of duty and relations with people, I might have stepped on toes, therefore I asked all to pardon in the spirit of unity and love.”
She indicated that divided we fall, together we build; we can only achieve great strides together for our great party if only we unite for a common front.
On this note, the statement congratulated all for our victory in the primaries. It is indeed a victory for all and not for me alone,” adding that “The party wins.”
