The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Ishmael Ashitey, has sounded a stern warning to Ga Abola (Dzaasetse),Nii Okai Awua II who is known in his private life as Mr Henry Ayi Addo to desist from his continous habit of peddling falsehoods against some prominent personalities which situation ought to create unnecessary confusion and tension within the Ga State.
Consequently, Mr Ashitey who doubles as the Chairman of the Greater Accra Regional Security Council (REGSEC) minced no words when he called on the traditional office holders, religious leaders, youth, elders, heads of families to Ga Paramount Stool to urgently call Mr Henry Addo to order in order not to land himself into big trouble, since his actions and inactions were causing trouble for the people in the Ga State.
Hon. Ashitey was not happy about continous attitudes of Mr Henry Addo to generally accuse him (the minister) of playing instrumental roles in the recent installation of a new Ga Mantse under the Stool name, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru ll.
The Minster issued the warning to Henry Addo in the response to the recent wide spread media report which suggests that he (Hon Ishmael Ashitey) has apologized to him and his entourage over his actions at his office when he extended invitation to them for a discussion over the continue attacks on the King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, Ga Mantse.
The media reported noted that the meeting which eventually ended on a bad note, saw the Minister swear to protect the Mandate of the V. C. E. A. C. REPORT ON THE MAKING OF THE GA MANTSE.
The report asserted that Nii Tetteh Kwei ll is Ga Djasetse and Principal Kingmaker of the Ga State. And if he has installed Nii Teiko Tsuru ll, then he is the Ga Mantse.
The report noted the Minister during the meeting got furious when the , Nii Okai Awua II, Henry Ayi Addo told him that the Ga Mantse throne is his (Nii Okai Awua II) his family Royal throne and for that matter will not relinquish it to anybody, not even for billions of Cedis.
According to the report, Minister later threatened Nii Okai Awua II and warned him to desist from using his position as a journalist with pen and paper as weapons to rubbish the norms and tradition of the Ga People.
The reported indicated the minister threatened that “I will arrest you if there is any attacks in Ga mashie.”
Meanwhile, in a WhatsApp message to the Abola Dzaasetse, the Regional Minister apologized for mistreating him and the team during their visit to his office.
But in a sharp rebuttal to set the records straight on the matter, Hon Ashitey rubbished all the claims by Mr Henry and his followers, saying that It is not true and factually incorrect.
According to him, there were Directors of his outfit at that meeting who can easily testified of what has transpired in the meeting, saying that all what Henry Addo said it took place at meeting was completely false.
He therefore described the claim by Mr Henry Addo as shameful devil plot he hatched against him (the minister) just to tanish his image.
“There is something wrong with that man. I don’t know if he has mental problem,” Hon Ashitey stated.
On the issue regarding to the WhassApp messages to the effect that the Minister apologized for mistreating Mr Henry Addo and the team during their visit to his office, Hon Ashitey stated that Mr Henry Addo has taken his WhassApp messages out of real contents.
According to him, “Mr Henry Addo text me that I should apologize to him becacuse I said he is using his pen as journalist to disturb everybody.”
“I didn’t say anything like that at our meeting so I responded that I believe he came there as Dzaasetse and not a journalist so if I said anything to him degrade him as a Dzaasetse then I am sorry,” Hon Ashitey explained.
