THE legaly and customarily consecrated Ga Mantse, King Tackie TeikoTsuru ll who generally succeeds the late substantive Ga Mantse, Nii Sosi Amugi who died in 2006 has stressed the urgent need for the feuding factions within the Ga state to cease fire and come to the table of men with their grievances.
King TackieTeikoTsuru ll stated that the Ga State was underdeveloped following the absence of good and progressive leadership , and that the only way to address the situation was when elders and youth of the land see unity and oneness as the solutions to their long standing problems.
According to the Paramount Chief of Ga State, he was of strong hope that the performance of final customarily and legally rites by the Principal Kingmaker to the Ga Mantse Royal Paramount Stool, Dr Nii Tetteh Kwei ll to consecrate him as the new Ga Mantse would be the last solution to settle chieftaincy disputes and called on the elders and followes to ensure the peace prevail in the Ga State.
King TackieTeikoTsuru ll made the foregoing call when the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Mr Ishmael Ashitey led a team of state officials including the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) on Tuesday May 26, 2020 to pay a courtesy call on him at Ga Mantse Palace at Kaneshie in Accra.
The visit was attested to the fact the new Ga Mantse was officially recognize by the state as he begins his official chieftaincy works or duties as the new Ga Mantse and the President of Ga Traditional Council.
NiiTackieTeikoTsuru ll was formerly introduced by the Ga Traditional Council as the new Ga Mantse on May 10, 2020 after having undergone the customary purification rites at the Nungua, GborbuWulomlo’s Shrine.
Addressing Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) who were led by the Regional Minister, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru ll appealed to the MMDCEs to rally behind him to ensure a united front.
He explained that the disunity among elders of the land was hindering the development of the Ga community who were dwelling in poverty and distress.
Mr Ashitey who presented assorted drinks to the Palace ahead the celebrations of the Homowo, the annual Ga traditional festival , asked commercial entities including those in the financial sector to support the Ministry to rehabilitate the Ga Palace and the Ga Traditional Council Offices.
“Because of the numerous quarrels they have had over the years, the buildings had become deteriorated, and therefore it is up to the commercial entities in the region to assist to renovate the building for occupancy,” he appealed.
Mr Ashitey called on the King TackieTeikoTsuru ll and the Ga Traditional Council to do everything possible to ensure peace and unity between the Ga State.
He stated that “we hope that the consecration of the new Ga Mantse has settled the Ga Mantse Royal Paramount Stool chieftaincy dispute which would bring development in the Ga State and stressed the need for the elders to support Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II to bring the needed to the Ga State.
He assured his commitment and readiness to support Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II to ensure sustainable quality education among the youth in the Ga-Dangbe communities.
