THE Prestea Magestrate Court in the Prestea Huni-Valley Municipality of the Western Region has given an order to the opinion leaders at Nakaba, the gold mining and farming community within the Prestea Hima Traditional Area to immediately remove the abandoned scrap excavator machine from the Nakaba township which has wounded several innocent children in the area.
The order which was given by the court presided over by Mr Frank Ashitey Addo to dispose off of what the residents described as ‘killer’ scrapped abandoned excavator machine with registration number AW 4326-14, generally amidst jubilation galore by the residents in Prestea-Nakaba community.
The happiness by the residents was premised on the ground that the court has taken very good decision by way of saving the people, particularly the children from continously being hurt or wounded by the dangerous excavator machine which owner was not even known.
The children of school going age who usually played in the place where the machine was completely abandoned were generally being hurt or wounded by the machine due to its dangerous nature and that this unfortunate situation sometimes landed the victims in the hospital.
Aside the children being wounded by the excavator, information available to this reporter indicates that the wee smokers and notorious criminals and armed robbers have also used the place where the excavator was parked as their hiding place of abode.
That frightening development has informed the decision of the Unit Committee Chairman of Nakaba, Mr Samuel Arthur and Assembly Member for Anfegya Electoral Area, Mr Shuaib Dimbie to jointly institute legal action in the file suit No MISC06/2020 against unknown owner of the machine.
However, the signed and certified court ruling which was intercepted by Bizzygh.com reads in part;”Upon reading the motion, ex-parte together with the affidavit in supoort filed by plaintiffs/applicants herein dated April 16, 2020 in respect of an order to dispose off the scrapped excavator machine from the community.”
It continued that “And upon reading the plaintiffs/applicants in person, the application is hereby granted for an order that the abandoned scrapped excavator machine be disposed off from the Prestea-Nakaba to make away for the development of the community.”
Speaking in an interview with Bizzygh.com yesterday, scores of the traditional office holders and opinion leaders of Prestea-Nakaba Community expressed their profound appreciation to the court for taking the decision that ought to safe human lives.
“We pray and believe that our Prestea Magistrate Court would continue to make justice to prevail at all times of the cases which may safe human lives and properties,” they noted.
