Clash over fumigation exercise at KIA: WYBA Company Limited Blames Zoomlion For Wrongdoing

WYBA Company Limited has taken a swipe at the Zoomlion Ghana Limited (ZGL) for what the former described as Zoomlion selfish interest to take over all fumigation projects in Ghana.

According to the company, it would not contenance for Zoomlion to continue to take mopoly of all government fumigation projects in the country.

The company expressed misgivings about the current behavioral attitudes exhibited by the management of the Zoomlion to take over the already signed and certified fumigation contractual agreement between the Ghana Airport Company Limited and WYBA Company Limited to disinfect the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) terminal one and two on April 27, 2020.
In a press statement signed and issued by the Public Relations Officer (PRO), for WYBA Company Limited, Mr. Samuel Kwame Amankwa and copied to the company expressed worry over the unlawful act carried by workers of ZoomLion for invading the Kotoka International Airport on April 27, 2020 whiles the workers WYBA Company Limited started the fumigation exercise and about complete.

The statement has, therefore debunked allegation and false publication on social media and various local and international media platforms that ZoomLion fumigated the Kotoka International Airport .

According to the statement, the
WYBA Company Limited which is a well established company of undertaking fumigation exercise, disinfection exercise and pests control on the country has been given the go ahead by the Ghana Airpot Comany Limited to disinfect the Kotoka International Airport and not Zoomlion.

It explained that the company started the fumigation exercise at the Airport terminal one and two on 27 April, 2020, but went there the next day only to find out that Zoomlion was fumigating the area which was officially given to WYBA Company Limited.

“Our agreement with the management of the Kotoka International Airport was for us to carry out a disinfection excise in the entire Airport and we were able to carry out a comprehensive disinfection exercise on terminal one and two their offices and other areas on Monday;” the statement further explained

The statement asserted that the two campanies clashed as a result of the ZoomLion’s selfish interest to take over all fumigation projects in Ghana

It noted that the exercise was part of “our corporate social responsibility to support the president’s call to help fight the novel corona virus pandemic.
